**Job title**: Staff Data Scientist – Product Analytics
**Role Summary**: Lead the design, execution, and interpretation of product analytics to inform strategy, drive optimization, and deliver measurable value to internal stakeholders and external customers in a fast‑growing SaaS dental‑AI company.
**Expectations**:
- Own end‑to‑end analytics projects from hypothesis to recommendation.
- Translate business questions into actionable analytical models and visualizations.
- Communicate insights to senior leadership and external clients in clear, non‑technical language.
- Maintain high standards of data quality, adherence to best practices, and documentation.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Collaborate with product, engineering, customer success, and business teams to define analytical priorities and develop solutions.
- Engineer, validate, and optimize data pipelines and ETL processes in partnership with data engineers.
- Analyze large, complex datasets using Python, SQL, and statistical techniques to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities for product improvement.
- Generate and present actionable insights that shape the product roadmap and demonstrate product value to customers.
- Build and maintain dashboards, KPI documentation, and data dictionaries for self‑service analytics.
- Develop external‑facing data products and embedded analytics, acting as a trusted advisor to customers.
- Stay current on industry trends, emerging analytics tools, and best practices to keep the organization’s analytics capabilities cutting‑edge.
**Required Skills**:
- Advanced proficiency in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit‑learn, etc.) and SQL.
- Experience with data transformation and workflow orchestration tools (e.g., DBT, Airflow).
- Strong expertise in data visualization tools (Looker, Sigma, Tableau, Power BI).
- Demonstrated ability to lead comprehensive analytics projects and present findings to senior non‑technical stakeholders.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and evidence of ownership.
- Proven track record in a SaaS, B2B software, or high‑growth startup environment.
- Knowledge of healthcare or dental industry data is a plus.
**Required Education & Certifications**:
- Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Data Science, or a related quantitative field.
- Advanced certifications in data science or analytics (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Google Cloud Data Analytics Professional) are advantageous but not mandatory.
