Job Description
Job title: Business Development Representative (Market Development Representative) Role Summary Drive market demand for Sovos tax compliance solutions by prospecting, qualifying, and setting appointments with potential business customers. Execute outbound sales activities, collaborate with Sales Executives on territory plans, and achieve pipeline and revenue quotas. Serve as an independent self‑starter who translates marketing efforts into qualified sales opportunities. Expectations - Consistently meet or exceed telemarketing and revenue quotas. - Build and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified prospects. - Collaborate with Sales Executives to execute territory plans and forecast revenue. - Apply independent judgment to refine and improve outreach strategies. Key Responsibilities - Identify and engage mid‑level and executive prospects through outbound prospecting, email, and telemarketing. - Arrange sales meetings, conduct solution presentations, and drive prospect qualification. - Manage multiple opportunities concurrently, updating CRM and tracking progress. - Execute a formalized sales process, including follow‑ups and closing support. - Deliver regular sales forecasts and performance reports. - Develop and recommend process, document, and tool improvements for Market Development initiatives. - Support implementation of Sovos solutions by working directly with customers when needed. Required Skills - Strong communication (written, verbal, presentation) and interpersonal skills. - Self‑motivated, persistent, and comfortable with outbound outreach. - Ability to engage confidence with mid‑level and executive stakeholders. - Proficient in Salesforce (or similar CRM) and Microsoft Office. - Excellent planning, organization, prioritization, and multi‑tasking abilities. - Creative problem‑solving and adaptability to changing markets. - Strong team orientation and proactive attitude toward process improvement. Required Education & Certifications - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. - Preferably prior quota‑based experience or demonstrated ability to exceed sales targets.
