Job Description
**Job Title:** Data Engineer **Role Summary:** Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high‑quality data pipelines using Python and modern ETL/orchestration tools. Collaborate with data architects and analysts to deliver reliable data integration for analytics and business decision‑making, adhering to tiered architecture (bronze/silver/gold) and cloud data warehouse standards. **Expectations:** - Minimum 4 years of hands‑on data engineering experience. - Strong problem‑solving mindset and ability to work in fast‑paced, client‑focused environments. - Commitment to data quality, reproducibility, and documentation. **Key Responsibilities:** - Build, deploy, and support data pipelines in Python using Matillion, DPC, or similar tools. - Translate mapping documents into production‑ready workflows. - Implement data quality checks, error handling, and root‑cause analysis. - Apply tiered (bronze/silver/gold) architecture patterns to pipeline design. - Manage metadata and control structures for traceability. - Integrate with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Redshift, etc.). - Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives). - Contribute to version control (Git) and CI/CD processes. **Required Skills:** - Python programming for data processing. - Advanced SQL; experience with structured and semi‑structured data. - ETL/orchestration tools (Matillion, DPC, Airflow, dbt, etc.). - Cloud platforms: Snowflake, Azure, AWS, or GCP. - Data quality, error handling, and recovery strategies. - Ability to interpret technical mapping specifications. - Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent practical experience). - Relevant certifications (e.g., Snowflake, AWS/Azure/GCP data engineering, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer) are a plus but not mandatory.
