Job Description
Job title: 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer Role Summary: Provide expert, proactive support for complex and business‑critical incidents in a cloud‑first managed service environment. Own major incidents, lead post‑incident reviews, mentor lower‑tier engineers, and drive continuous improvement and knowledge sharing across the infrastructure team. Expactations: Deliver high‑quality, 24/7 incident management, mentor junior staff, maintain comprehensive documentation, and support onboarding for new clients, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance. Key Responsibilities: • Act as 3rd‑line escalation point for complex, multi‑client incidents. • Own major/critical incidents, including root cause analysis and post‑incident reporting. • Mentor and coach 1st/2nd line engineers. • Onboard new clients and facilitate proactive service delivery. • Contribute technical oversight of service improvements and changes. • Develop subject‑matter expertise on Microsoft products (M365, Azure) and collaboration with vendors. • Consult internally on new product development and cloud‑security initiatives. • Maintain high‑quality technical documentation and knowledge bases. Required Skills: • 3+ years in a managed service provider setting with third‑line support focus. • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills. • Deep knowledge of Microsoft M365, Azure (IaaS, PaaS) and related cloud services. • Proficient networking and infrastructure capabilities. • Solid cyber‑security fundamentals and best practices. • Experience with vendor collaboration and continuous improvement processes. • Ability to mentor, communicate effectively across teams, and produce clear documentation. Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (preferred). • Microsoft certifications (e.g., MS-100/MS-102, Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect) highly desirable. • Experience with AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot is an advantage.
