**Job Title**: Azure Cloud Engineer
**Role Summary**: Design, deploy, and manage Microsoft Azure environments for federal government clients. Ensure high availability, security, scalability, and cost‑efficiency while collaborating with development and operations teams.
**Expectations**: 5‑7 years of Azure experience in regulated or federal environments; strong cloud governance knowledge; continuous learning mindset with relevant certification maintenance.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Architect, deploy, and manage Azure workloads (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) including VMs, storage, databases, and networking.
- Implement security controls, compliance policies, and governance across federal Azure regions.
- Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and conduct capacity/planning activities.
- Optimize resource usage and cost through right‑sizing, automation, and reporting.
- Collaborate with Dev, QA, and IT teams to integrate applications and services on Azure.
- Apply infrastructure‑as‑code practices (ARM, Terraform, or Bicep) for repeatable deployments.
- Maintain and improve documentation, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
**Required Skills**:
- Azure cloud architecture, VM, storage, networking, and database services.
- Security, compliance, and governance in federal Azure contexts.
- Performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and cost‑optimization techniques.
- Automation & IaC (ARM, Terraform, Bicep).
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications**:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field.
- 5‑7 years of Azure cloud experience in federal/government settings.
- Microsoft Azure certification(s) (e.g., Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
- ITIL Foundation and/or ITIL Practitioner v4 certification.
- Desired: DevSecOps FoundationSM certification (DevOps Institute).
