Job Description
Job Title: Helpdesk Technician Role Summary: Deliver 1st/2nd line IT support across the organization, maintaining system reliability and user productivity. Act as an escalation point for technical issues while collaborating with the IT team on deployment and backup initiatives. The role is designed for progression into an IT Manager position within 12 months. Expactations: • Strong first and second line support experience or equivalent educational background. • Proactive, organized problem‑solving mindset. • Own valid car/motorbike licence and vehicle to support occasional site visits. • Willingness to learn and grow under senior IT leadership. Key Responsibilities: • Respond to helpdesk tickets and resolve hardware, software, and network issues. • Use PowerShell and Python scripts to automate routine tasks. • Deploy and manage software packages with PDQ Deploy. • Manage backup solutions using Veeam and monitor data integrity. • Configure and troubleshoot Mimecast email protection. • Maintain accurate documentation of support procedures and system configurations. • Collaborate with senior IT staff on projects and process improvements. Required Skills: • 1st/2nd line IT support experience. • Proficiency in PowerShell, Python, PDQ Deploy, Veeam, and Mimecast. • Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities. • Excellent verbal and written communication. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. • Team‑orientated and adaptable to change. Required Education & Certifications: • Relevant IT or Computer Science educational background. • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate, or equivalent are desirable.
