Job Description
**Job Title:** IT Generalist **Role Summary:** Provide break/fix support for hardware, software, and networking within a remote, cloud‑centric environment. Act as a first‑line responder for incidents, maintain system uptime, and support developers and end‑users while working under a DevOps lead. **Expectations:** - Deliver timely, high‑quality support and maintain system reliability. - Prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced, business‑hour aligned schedule. - Act autonomously on routine issues, escalating complex problems appropriately. **Key Responsibilities:** - Install, test, and repair workstations; diagnose and replace hardware and software defects. - Configure user accounts and review privileges; supply onboarding assistance. - Monitor logs and alert systems to ensure uptime and pre‑empt incidents. - Draft, review, and update incident‑response playbooks. - Coordinate policy reviews, obtain approvals, and reconcile cloud configurations against documentation. - Analyse penetration and vulnerability scan results; recommend remediation. - Manage inventory of company assets and maintain accurate records. - Serve as on‑call incident responder; triage and resolve alerts. - Identify automation opportunities and propose solutions. - Plan resources and schedules to meet deliverables; provide general IT support as needed. **Required Skills:** - Troubleshooting of Windows, macOS, and Linux workstations. - Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, VPN). - Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) – preferred. - Understanding of mobile device management (MDM). - Ability to interpret logs, monitoring dashboards, and security scan outputs. - Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and multitasking abilities. - Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills. - Willingness to work within North American business hours. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent. - Post‑secondary education in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred. - Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent are advantageous.
