ServiceNow Developer / Engineer (CMDB Focus)
**Role Summary**
Design, develop, and maintain ServiceNow solutions with a primary focus on the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). Ensure accurate data, automated discovery, and seamless integration with ITSM, ITOM, and Asset Management modules while collaborating with architects, analysts, and delivery teams in an Agile environment.
**Expectations**
- Minimum 3 + years of hands‑on ServiceNow development/engineering experience.
- Proven expertise in CMDB architecture, discovery, and data reconciliation.
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and deliver within sprint cycles.
- Strong problem‑solving skills for troubleshooting CMDB, integration, and performance issues.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Design, configure, and implement CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping solutions on the ServiceNow platform.
- Define and maintain CI classes, identification/reconciliation rules, and relationship models.
- Develop automation scripts using JavaScript, Glide APIs, Flow Designer, and Orchestration.
- Integrate CMDB with ITSM, ITOM, ITAM/SAM modules to improve data visibility and operational efficiency.
- Perform data analysis, audits, and reconciliation to ensure CMDB integrity.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, estimate effort, and deliver technical deliverables.
- Troubleshoot and resolve CMDB data issues, integration failures, and platform performance problems.
- Support platform upgrades, patches, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, demos, and retrospectives.
**Required Skills**
- ServiceNow development/engineering (3+ years).
- Deep understanding of CMDB structure, CI relationships, and Discovery patterns.
- Proficient in JavaScript, ServiceNow Glide APIs, Flow Designer, and platform configuration.
- Experience with at least one ServiceNow module: ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, or SAM.
- Knowledge of Discovery, MID Server setup, and integration protocols (REST, SOAP, JDBC, etc.).
- Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork abilities.
- Agile methodology familiarity.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) required; ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) and/or Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) for CMDB/Discovery preferred.
