**Job Title:** Head of Applied AI
**Role Summary:**
Leads the design, development, and deployment of enterprise AI solutions that generate measurable business impact. Manages and mentors a team of Applied AI Engineers, translates complex business problems into production‑ready AI systems, and serves as the technical liaison to customers, product, sales, engineering, and research stakeholders.
**Expectations:**

- Drive technical vision and roadmap alignment with business strategy.
- Build and sustain client relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction and success.
- Represent the organization as a thought leader in AI forums and industry events.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Oversee end‑to‑end AI/ML solution lifecycle: ideation, development, deployment, integration, and customization.
- Define and execute technical and product vision for applied AI offerings.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a high‑performing Applied AI engineering team.
- Implement state‑of‑the‑art techniques (RAG, fine‑tuning, prompt engineering, AI agents, model training/optimization).
- Collaborate cross‑functionally to prioritize roadmap and integrate new capabilities.
- Identify differentiation opportunities and feed insights to product and research groups.
- Present at conferences, webinars, and industry events.
- Stay current with AI/ML trends and incorporate advancements into solutions.
- Travel to customer sites for workshops, implementation support, and relationship building as needed.
**Required Skills:**
- Strong expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and data science.
- Proven hands‑on experience building and deploying production AI applications.
- Proficiency in Python (data preparation, analysis, feature engineering, visualization); NLP experience preferred.
- Knowledge of modern AI techniques: retrieval‑augmented generation, prompt engineering, AI agents, model fine‑tuning, performance optimization.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team‑development abilities.
- Superior communication skills for technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Ability to manage complex projects, set milestones, and ensure timely delivery.
- Strong stakeholder management and customer‑facing experience.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field, *or* equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum 5 years of applied AI/ML experience with a track record of leading successful customer‑facing projects.
