Legal Intern

Job Description

Job title: Legal Intern Role Summary: Provide legal research support and general assistance to attorneys and compliance professionals within a legal and compliance team, focusing on lending, regulatory, administrative, agricultural, electronic funds transfer, contract, vendor, and privacy matters. Expectations: - 1st‑year law student in good standing (CPT or Pre‑Opt eligible). - Full‑time commitment during the summer of 2026. - Willingness to work remotely up to 50% of the time. - Authorization to work in the United States. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct legal research using Westlaw and other legal research tools. - Draft and review documents related to lending transactions, regulatory compliance, administrative law, agriculture law, e‑funds transfer, contract management, vendor agreements, and privacy law. - Provide general legal advice to support attorneys on the above matters. - Perform administrative tasks, including managing case folders, document control in SharePoint, and updating client data in Salesforce. - Collaborate with compliance professionals on ongoing projects and initiatives. Required Skills: - Proficiency in legal research (Westlaw). - Strong written and oral communication skills. - Analytical and problem‑solving abilities. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint). - Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM platforms. - Ability to manage multiple tasks and adhere to deadlines. Required Education & Certifications: - Currently enrolled as a first‑year law student with a satisfactory academic record. - Preferred: prior experience or coursework related to lending, financial services, or agriculture law.
