Job Description
**Job title** Process Engineer Intern **Role Summary** A Summer 2026 internship focused on supporting vinyl and glass cutting & assembly operations. The Intern will apply engineering and Lean principles to improve process capability, plant layout, and automation opportunities while ensuring safety and meeting quality specifications. **Expectations** - Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s program in Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering (sophomore level or higher). - Ability to gain and apply CAD skills (AutoCAD LT, Inventor, SolidWorks). - Proactive engagement with operators, engineers, and CI teams; strong communication and teamwork. **Key Responsibilities** - Design and update plant layout drawings in AutoCAD LT. - Create, maintain, and improve work instructions. - Develop motion and time standards for production cells. - Gather and analyze data for process capability studies and capital projects. - Evaluate material changes and support requisite assessments. - Specify small tooling and equipment as part of tooling projects. - Identify and recommend automation enhancements. - Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, improve safety, and optimize cell footprint. **Required Skills** - Proficiency (or learning readiness) in AutoCAD LT, and advantage with Inventor or SolidWorks. - Data collection, statistical analysis, and interpretation for capability studies. - Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and motion study techniques. - Strong documentation (work instructions, drawings, reports). - Effective communication with cross‑functional teams and operators. **Required Education & Certifications** - Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (Electrical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering) at an accredited institution. - Completed sophomore year coursework. ---
