Job title: DevSecOps Engineer
Role Summary:
Engineer and maintain a secure, scalable, cloud‑native platform, managing production Kubernetes clusters, Helm workflows, and containerized environments. Drive automation, infrastructure‑as‑code, and observability while embedding security best practices throughout the CI/CD pipeline and AWS infrastructure.
Expectations:
Deliver reliable, high‑availability services for a bioscience/IT organization. Prioritize infrastructure security, operational excellence, and continuous improvement. Collaborate cross‑functionally with development and security teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and scale production Kubernetes clusters and Helm deployments.
- Maintain Docker‑based container environments and multi‑container orchestration.
- Identify, assess, and remediate security vulnerabilities in cloud and container stacks.
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for observability (Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, etc.).
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration via tools like Terraform and scripting (Bash, Python).
- Design and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
- Troubleshoot network, DNS, API, and distributed system issues.
- Support AWS services (EKS, EC2, IAM, VPC networking).
- Document infrastructure, processes, and compliance standards.
- Collaborate with development teams to enforce secure deployment practices.
Required Skills:
- Kubernetes administration and Helm deployment expertise.
- Docker and Docker Compose proficiency.
- Strong Linux administration across distributions.
- Scripting in Bash, Python, or equivalent for automation.
- CloudWatch, Grafana, Prometheus, and related observability tools.
- Security fundamentals: system hardening, vulnerability remediation.
- AWS services (EKS, EC2, IAM, VPC networking).
- Infrastructure‑as‑code with Terraform or similar.
- CI/CD pipeline design and maintenance.
- Problem‑solving, cross‑functional collaboration, integrity, professionalism.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (preferred).
- Minimum 2+ years of DevOps/DevSecOps experience managing production Kubernetes environments.
- Eligible U.S. persons (citizens, nationals, permanent residents, asylees, refugees).
