Job Title: Director Applications Development - Care Delivery, Rev Cycle and PX Applications
Role Summary: Lead the strategy, implementation, and continuous optimization of Epic‑centered enterprise applications supporting clinical operations, revenue cycle management, and patient experience across multiple dental practices. Responsible for steering a multi‑vendor ecosystem, advancing interoperability, and delivering data‑driven, patient‑centered digital outcomes.
Expactations: Deliver a multi‑year applications roadmap aligned with clinical, financial, and patient experience objectives; oversee full lifecycle management of technology initiatives; drive interoperability strategy using FHIR, HL7, EDI X12, APIs, and secure data exchange; manage vendor relationships, contracts, and integration projects; mentor and lead a cross‑functional applications team; maintain governance, compliance, and performance metrics; develop operating budgets and achieve financial targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and execute a multi‑year enterprise applications roadmap.
- Lead Epic implementations (Wisdom, Cadence, Resolute, MyChart) and Community Connect rollouts across affiliated dental groups.
- Oversee integration of third‑party solutions, APIs, FHIR, HL7, and EDI X12.
- Partner with clinical, RCM, and IT stakeholders to refine workflows, automate data exchange, and improve operational efficiency.
- Implement governance, change management, and compliance processes.
- Establish KPIs and promote data‑driven decision making.
- Manage vendor contracts, performance, and partner integrations.
- Collaborate with analytics teams to enable data pipelines, data lake integration, and population health reporting.
- Lead, train, and develop a team responsible for application performance, uptime, and workflow optimization.
- Develop and manage department budgets, ensuring alignment with business unit financial objectives.
Required Skills:
- 10+ years in healthcare/dental IT, 5+ in senior leadership of enterprise systems.
- Proven Epic experience, including full lifecycle implementations and Community Connect.
- Deep knowledge of RCM systems, clinical workflows, and patient experience technology.
- Expertise in interoperability (HL7, FHIR, RESTful APIs, EDI X12, SFTP).
- Proficiency with integration middleware (Mirth, Rhapsody, Cloverleaf, MuleSoft).
- Strong data architecture, master data management, and data quality framework skills.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure or other public cloud deployment patterns.
- Leadership of multi‑site rollouts, change management, and vendor partnership management.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational leadership.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Healthcare Administration, or related field (required).
- Master’s degree preferred.
