Job Description
Job Title: SOC Analyst Role Summary: Responsible for continuous monitoring, investigation, and response to security event alerts across an enterprise network. Conducts triage, incident ticketing, threat analysis, and reporting for federal customers, ensuring compliance with agency standards and contributing to CISA reporting and OSINT initiatives. Expactations: * Must obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. * Work 24/7/365, responding to incidents irrespective of weather. * Keep up-to-date with threat intelligence and sensor updates. Key Responsibilities: * Monitor sensor, firewall, content filtering, and SIEM logs for potential threats. * Review and triage all incoming alerts, perform investigations, and log incidents in the agency’s ticketing system (e.g., ServiceNow). * Validate anomalous traffic according to agency procedures. * Escalate high‑severity threats to senior resources as needed. * Measure and model traffic patterns, identify ports, and create reports for contractual and ad hoc needs. * Provide data for agency CISA reports and conduct OSINT research. * Design and deploy new intrusion detection signatures and update sensor configurations. Required Skills: * 1–2 years of SOC or equivalent analytical experience. * Proficiency with SOC tools, SIEM platforms, and Windows/Microsoft 365 environments. * Ability to create custom intrusion signatures and update sensors. * Experience with large‑scale ticketing systems (ServiceNow, CAPRS, etc.). * Strong written and verbal communication in English, including oral presentations. * Proficient in email, instant messaging, and monitoring tools. Required Education & Certifications: * High School Diploma plus advanced cybersecurity training; BS/BA preferred. * CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or CompTIA CySA+ certification (required).
