**Job Title:** Sr. Snowflake Developer
**Role Summary:**
Senior data platform engineer responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing Snowflake-based data warehouses and lakes. Leads data ingestion, CDC, ETL, and performance tuning while ensuring governance, security, and high availability across AWS cloud services.
**Expectations:**
- 12‑15 years total experience in data warehousing, with ≥5 years in Snowflake.
- Proven track record in financial services data environments.
- Ability to manage end‑to‑end delivery, refactor legacy systems, and mentor teammates.
- Strong communication skills for interfacing with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Architect and build Snowflake schemas, data models, and storage solutions for data lakes and warehouses.
- Design and implement ingestion pipelines using Snowpipe, AWS Glue, and COPY INTO for batch and incremental data.
- Apply CDC, metadata‑driven processing, and data transformation logic.
- Configure security, masking, encryption, and access controls in Snowflake and AWS IAM.
- Perform performance tuning, query optimization, and scalability planning.
- Develop automation scripts (Python/SQL) to reduce errors and support monitoring.
- Deploy code changes, patches, and upgrades in a CI/CD pipeline.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis, troubleshoot production issues, and document solutions.
- Work with cross‑functional teams (QA, Platform Delivery, DevOps) to deliver projects on schedule.
**Required Skills:**
- Deep knowledge of Snowflake architecture, features, and best practices.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS Glue, Lambda, S3, IAM, and related data services.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, and ETL tooling.
- Strong data modeling, analytical algorithms, and performance‑focused design.
- Experience in data lake & warehouse design, governance, lineage, and cataloging.
- Understanding of CDC, incremental loading, and metadata‑driven pipelines.
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps practices for cloud deployments.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications (preferred): SnowPro Advanced, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional, AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty.
