**Job Title**
AWS Engineer / Architect
**Role Summary**
Provide technical leadership for the design, implementation, and optimization of AWS cloud solutions. Translate business requirements into secure, scalable, high‑performance architectures, maintain documentation, and ensure adherence to AWS best practices and the Well‑Architected Framework.
**Expectations**
- 10+ years of IT infrastructure experience with a primary focus on AWS.
- Ability to lead and mentor development and operations teams.
- Proven track record of delivering cost‑optimized, reliable cloud environments.
- Strong stakeholder communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Active Security Clearance (SC) and eligibility to work under IR35 contracts.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead architecture and design of new and existing AWS solutions.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to capture requirements and define technical specifications.
- Implement infrastructure as code using CloudFormation and manage EKS/Fargate clusters.
- Design and secure network topologies (VPC, Subnets, NACLs, Security Groups, Lattice, etc.).
- Optimize infrastructure for cost, performance, and operational excellence.
- Produce and maintain architectural diagrams, standards, and best‑practice documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and support to development and operations teams.
- Conduct troubleshooting of complex cloud issues and drive root‑cause resolution.
- Monitor and tune services using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, OpenSearch, X‑Ray, etc.
**Required Skills**
- Deep expertise in the six pillars of the AWS Well‑Architected Framework.
- CloudFormation IaC (design, deployment, maintenance).
- Amazon EKS, Fargate, ECR, Kubernetes container orchestration.
- Core AWS services: VPC, EC2, S3, EBS, EFS, RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL, ALB/NLB, Elasticache, Transfer Family, Lambda, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, EventBridge.
- AWS monitoring & logging: CloudWatch, OpenSearch, Prometheus, X‑Ray, Grafana, ELK stack.
- Network design and security within AWS.
- Strong Linux/Windows administration.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (or equivalent) highly preferred.
- Additional AWS certifications (e.g., DevOps Engineer, Security Specialty) advantageous.
