**Job Title:**
M.C. Dean – Engineering Internship Program – Summer 2026
**Role Summary:**
Interns participate in one of six technical tracks—Control, Design, Energy, Software, Systems, or Telecommunications—working alongside experienced engineers on live projects in labs, sites, or manufacturing. They contribute to design, development, installation, and maintenance of mission‑critical systems while gaining certifications and networking opportunities.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver structured project contributions within defined timelines.
- Attend training sessions, safety briefings, and certification courses.
- Communicate progress to team leads and participate in cross‑functional meetings.
- Maintain professional conduct, adhere to safety protocols, and support a collaborative environment.
**Key Responsibilities (common to all tracks):**
- **Control Engineer:** design, develop, install, and maintain control and monitoring equipment.
- **Design Engineer:** produce drawings, specifications, select products, plan installation sequences, and support commissioning.
- **Energy Engineer:** analyze energy usage and implement efficiency initiatives.
- **Software Engineer:** develop and maintain enterprise, client‑side, and web applications; provide infrastructure support.
- **Systems Engineer:** program and manage large‑scale networking and high‑performance computing systems.
- **Telecommunications Engineer:** design, specify, and coordinate telecommunication distribution systems for medium‑to‑large projects.
- Cross‑track: collaborate with project teams, document work, conduct testing, and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
**Required Skills:**
- Fundamental engineering principles and problem‑solving ability.
- Proficiency with computer applications (CAD, simulation, programming environments).
- Strong verbal and written communication; ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Team collaboration and adaptability.
- Finger dexterity for operating keyboards and tools; capacity for prolonged screen and seated work.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Current enrollment (or recent graduate) in a bachelor’s or higher degree program in engineering or a related discipline (electrical, mechanical, computer science, cybersecurity, etc.).
- Willingness to pursue certifications offered by the program (e.g., PLC, networking, software development).
