**Job Title**
Landscape Mason – Residential & Pool Projects
**Role Summary**
Execute all masonry and stonework components of landscape and pool construction projects. Interpret detailed site plans, perform site reconnaissance, prepare foundations, and construct terraces, retaining walls, pathways, pool enclosures, and decorative features using natural stone, prefabricated elements, tiles, and concrete. Ensure compliance with safety regulations, maintain equipment, provide administrative reporting, and interact with clients to advise on design choices.

- Communicate accurately with supervisors, subcontractors, and clients.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Read and interpret architectural and landscape plans; conduct site surveys and soil reconnaissance.
- Perform preliminary site preparation: surveys, earthworks, grading, and foundation laying.
- Calculate volume and area conversions (m², m³, ML) for material estimation.
- Execute masonry tasks: building terraces, retaining walls, garden stairs, driveways, borders, and pool/fountain structures.
- Install natural stone, glass‑fibre reinforced concrete, prefabricated panels, tiling, and concrete surfaces.
- Construct and install gabion walls, steel mesh, and wooden elements such as pergolas and cladding.
- Produce concrete formwork, apply mortar, cast concrete, and finish surfaces.
- Apply interior and exterior plasters, renderings, and protective coatings.
- Set up and ensure proper safety signage, personal protective equipment, and site security.
- Maintain, clean, and operate masonry equipment (mixers, trowels, concrete pumps).
- Prepare and submit daily progress reports, incident logs, and material requisitions.
- Coordinate with project managers on permit approval and regulatory compliance.
- Communicate with clients to estimate timing, recommend aesthetic adjustments, and report recommendations.
**Required Skills**
- Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and site plans.
- Strong masonry skills: stone laying, concrete casting, formwork, and finishing.
- Ability to calculate volume, area, and material quantities accurately.
- Knowledge of safety protocols for heavy equipment and site hazards.
- Effective communication with supervisors and clients.
- Time‑management and ability to meet project deadlines.
- Basic understanding of landscaping and pool construction elements.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Completion of a recognized masonry apprenticeship or vocational program.
- Professional masonry certification or equivalent experience record (e.g., CMI, RDI, or national equivalent).
- Valid health and safety training certificate (e.g., COSHH, PPE, HSE or equivalent).
- Knowledge of local building regulations and environmental guidelines is advantageous.
