Job Description

**Job Title:** SEND Teaching Assistant (Learning Support Assistant) **Role Summary:** Provide curriculum‑based support and pastoral care to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), fostering inclusive learning environments, monitoring progress, and collaborating with families and staff. **Expectations:** - Demonstrate passion for SEND and commitment to student success. - Minimum 2 years experience in a SEND setting. - Strong English and Maths proficiency. - Ability to apply trauma‑informed and behavior‑management strategies. - Effective communication with parents, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams. **Key Responsibilities:** - Deliver classroom and one‑to‑one support across curriculum subjects. - Prepare and adapt learning materials to meet individual needs. - Implement behavior‑management and trauma‑informed practices. - Provide pastoral care addressing emotional, social, and academic needs. - Track and report student progress, identifying barriers to learning. - Maintain regular communication with parents/caregivers regarding student development. - Participate in outdoor and outreach activities to promote holistic development. **Required Skills:** - Strong interpersonal and empathetic communication. - Classroom management and behavior‑support techniques. - Ability to monitor and document student progress. - Organizational skills for material preparation and record‑keeping. - Collaborative teamwork with teachers and support staff. **Required Education & Certifications:** - A‑Level or equivalent; minimum of 2 years relevant SEND experience. - Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred). - Relevant first‑aid or safeguarding training (as required by employer).
