**Job Title:** Director of AI/ML
**Role Summary:**
Lead a cross‑functional data science organization to devise, develop, and deploy AI/ML solutions that drive business growth, optimize operations, and enhance customer experience. Provide strategic direction, technical guidance, and executive advisory on AI initiatives, ensuring alignment with corporate goals and industry best practices.
**Expectations:**
- Minimum 5 years of recent AI/ML experience with escalating responsibility.
- Proven track record of managing and scaling AI/ML teams in a complex, regulated environment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Oversee all aspects of AI operations: strategy, model development, data engineering, and deployment.
- Champion cross‑functional collaboration to design, build, and integrate AI/ML models into business processes.
- Manage data pipelines, ensuring high‑quality, large‑volume datasets for model training and inference.
- Build and maintain relationships with external partners, vendors, and academia to keep pace with AI advances.
- Ensure successful rollout of AI solutions, including training, support, maintenance, and performance monitoring.
- Establish and enforce best practices, policies, and security protocols for AI systems.
- Recruit, coach, and develop AI talent; set productivity metrics and conduct performance reviews.
- Advise executive leadership on high‑impact AI strategies, risk mitigation, and contractual matters.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing and foster a culture of innovation and experimentation.
**Required Skills:**
- Deep technical expertise in AI/ML algorithms, data modeling, and data engineering.
- Hands‑on experience with leading AI platforms/tools (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.).
- Familiarity with GenAI models such as Meta Llama, Mistral AI and related frameworks.
- Strategic planning, analytical thinking, and business‑process optimization.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex AI concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Problem‑solving, conflict resolution, and change‑management capabilities.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field.
- 5 + years of progressive experience in AI/ML and IT management, preferably within healthcare, insurance, or a related regulated sector.
