**Job title:** Associate Security Consultant
**Role Summary:**
Oversee forecasting, prioritisation, and operational delivery of security projects in the built environment. Serve as escalation point for clients and Principal Security Consultants, lead multidisciplinary teams, manage senior staff, and contribute to business development, while ensuring compliance with security risk management standards (ISO 31000, Secured by Design, BPSS, UKSV SC, DV).
**Expectations:**
- Senior level security consultant with proven project management and risk‑management expertise.
- Full UK national, willing to travel within the UK and work hybrid (office/site up to 3 days/week).
- Achieve BPSS baseline security vetting prior to appointment.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Forecast, prioritise, and allocate resources for the security workstream.
2. Act as primary escalation contact for clients and for Principal Security Consultants on project delivery.
3. Lead complex, multidisciplinary security projects, ensuring technical design aligns with RIBA Plan of Work stages.
4. Coordinate day‑to‑day operational delivery, maintain project information, and verify documentation accuracy.
5. Maintain situational awareness by liaising with National Technical Authorities and industry partners.
6. Line‑manage Principal Security Consultants, support their professional development.
7. Contribute to business development: nurture client relationships, identify new opportunities, and prepare technical reports, threat/risk assessments, and operational specifications.
8. Apply security risk management principles, policies, and procedures; drive improvements and align with ISO 31000.
9. Engage clients to establish clear security briefs and technology requirements.
**Required Skills:**
- Deep understanding of security risk management in the built environment.
- Experience delivering security projects within multi‑disciplinary consultancy environments.
- Expertise in electronic security systems, physical security design, and security operations.
- Proficiency in producing technical reports, threat/risk assessments, and operational specifications.
- Strong project management: workload prioritisation, delegation, quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement.
- Excellent written and spoken English; capable of communicating at all organisational levels.
- Knowledge of Secured by Design, current industry initiatives, and technology innovation.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Relevant degree‑level qualification in security, engineering, or related built environment discipline.
- Chartered membership of a professional institution related to security or engineering.
- Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) qualification, UKSV SC and DV clearance.
