Job Description

**Job Title** Cloud Engineer I – Operations Service Center **Role Summary** Provide 24/7 operational and technical support for enterprise physical and virtual compute environments. Resolve alerts, incidents, and routine maintenance tasks while ensuring compliance with service level agreements (SLAs) and high customer satisfaction. **Expectations** - Shift‑based availability (24 × 7 × 365) with flexibility for on‑call duties. - Proactive monitoring, rapid incident triage, and end‑to‑end resolution. - Continuous learning and application of new cloud, automation, and virtualization technologies. **Key Responsibilities** - Manage and close tickets, maintaining SLA compliance. - Respond to monitoring alerts; diagnose and resolve production issues. - Execute scheduled system maintenance: hardware and software upgrades, patching, and data‑protection tasks. - Support VMware ESXi and comparable virtualization platforms across diverse hardware. - Perform basic network virtualization (NSX) firewall rule changes. - Apply knowledge of high‑availability clustering, SMT, SNMP, SSL, SSH, DNS, and OSI model. - Produce accurate documentation, incident reports, and knowledge‑base articles. **Required Skills** - Proficient with Linux/Windows operating systems, Active Directory/Exchange, and enterprise‑level virtualization (VMware, hyperconverged). - Experience with IT monitoring, patch management, and data‑protection coordination. - Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑resolution abilities. - Competent with basic networking concepts and protocols. - Familiarity with scripting (Python, PowerShell, Ansible, JavaScript/JSON/REST API). - Excellent written and verbal communication, customer‑centric interaction, and teamwork in a matrixed environment. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional experience. - 3 + years progressive IT engineering experience. - US citizenship (required for federal contracts). - Relevant system certifications (e.g., VCP‑DCV, MCSA/MCSE, RHSE/RHSA) preferred. ---
