Job Description
Job Title: VMware Cloud Administrator Role Summary: Lead the planning, migration, and day‑to‑day administration of VMware environments across on‑premises and cloud platforms (AVS). Design and execute upgrades, optimization, and disaster‑recovery strategies for enterprise customers. Expectations: * Deliver a minimum of 3 successful migrations per assignment using HCX or equivalent tools. * Maintain high availability and performance for VMware vSphere, vCenter, and vRA platforms. * Operate within a defined 12‑month contract period and adhere to the specified shift schedule. Key Responsibilities: * Provision, configure, and manage ESXi hosts, vCenter servers, and vRA resources. * Design and oversee migrations from on‑premises VMware to VMware Cloud ecosystems or to alternative hypervisors, ensuring minimal downtime. * Script and automate routine tasks (PowerCLI, Terraform, Ansible). * Monitor system health, capacity, and performance; respond to alerts promptly. * Implement security hardening, backup, and disaster‑recovery procedures. * Collaborate with cross‑functional teams for project planning and execution. Required Skills: * 5+ years hands‑on experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, and vRA. * Expertise in VMware Cloud (AVS) architecture and migration technologies (HCX). * Proficiency in cloud provider integrations (Azure, AWS, GCP). * Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Shell). * Familiarity with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, Ansible). * Ability to document and communicate technical solutions clearly.
