Job Description
**Job Title:** Trainee Financial Planner **Role Summary:** Two‑year contracted traineeship designed to develop aspiring financial planners toward the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation. The program provides structured training, exposure to multiple financial planning platforms, client interaction, and project work under senior planners. **Expectations:** - Demonstrate strong ambition to become a qualified Financial Planner. - Manage workload efficiently and meet assigned deadlines with high accuracy. - Complete all academic and professional exams within the 2‑year period (FPI Financial Plan and FAIS Exam 5). - Maintain professional ethics and adhere to regulatory standards. **Key Responsibilities:** - Support senior Financial Planners and para‑planners on client engagements. - Participate in client meetings, prepare meeting notes, and assist in presenting financial plans. - Conduct financial analysis, product research, and case‑study exercises. - Develop draft financial plans and recommendations under supervision. - Contribute to internal projects and initiatives to broaden professional knowledge. - Ensure compliance with FAIS regulations and internal quality standards. **Required Skills:** - Solid understanding of financial planning concepts, products, investments, taxation, and financial analysis. - Strong analytical and quantitative abilities. - Effective communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction. - High attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to turnaround times. - Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time, and work independently or as part of a team. **Required Education & Certifications:** - B.Com (Honours) in Financial Planning *or* equivalent qualification, **or** Post‑Graduate Diploma in Financial Planning. - Candidates completing the above qualification in 2025 may apply, provided proof of final passing is submitted by December 2025. - Commitment to sit for and pass the FPI Financial Plan exam (required for CFP® candidacy). - Commitment to sit for and pass the FAIS Regulatory Exam 5 for Representatives.
