**Job Title**: Lead Engineering Estimator
**Role Summary**
Lead Engineering Estimator develops comprehensive cost estimates for engineering projects across electrical, mechanical, structural, environmental, civil, packaging, and chemical disciplines. The role drives accurate budgeting, risk identification, and cost-saving recommendations while ensuring alignment with project objectives and industry standards.
**Expectations**
- 25 % travel; on‑site site visits required.
- Full‑time, non‑remote; handles confidential proprietary information.
- Must undergo standard criminal background check.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Review project scopes, technical drawings, and specifications to identify cost drivers.
- Construct detailed line‑item cost estimates and high‑level budget projections.
- Analyze labor, material, equipment, subcontract, and overhead costs; integrate industry price databases.
- Evaluate risk factors, identify potential cost‑saving opportunities, and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and present cost reports for internal stakeholders and external bids.
- Maintain and update cost estimation tools, templates, and databases.
- Ensure estimates comply with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
- Mentor and supervise junior estimators; promote best practices and continuous improvement.
**Required Skills**
- Advanced analytical and quantitative skills; strong financial acumen.
- Expert knowledge of at least two of: electrical, mechanical, structural, environmental, civil, packaging, or chemical engineering fields.
- Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., CostOS, Sage Estimating, Microsoft Excel).
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering reports.
- Effective communication—verbal and written—for cross‑functional collaboration.
- Leadership capability and proven experience managing small teams.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, or related field) or Construction Engineering.
- Minimum 5–7 years of cost estimating experience in engineering or construction environments.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator (CPE), ACCS, PMI-MBA, or equivalent) strongly preferred.
