Job title: Product Development Assistant
Role Summary: Support the Product Development team in bringing new menswear, womenswear, and accessories to production. Manage cost targets, sample tracking, tech pack creation, and supplier communication to ensure timely, on‑budget, compliant samples and fitting quality.
Expectations:
• 1‑2+ years in fashion product development or sustainability‑focused brand.
• Degree in Fashion Design, Product Development, Garment Technology, or related field.
• Strong organisational skills, teamwork, and a proactive, positive attitude.
• Ability to communicate confidently with cross‑functional teams and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with Materials, Design, Buying & Sourcing, and Technical departments on new product development across all categories.
2. Generate and track target costs, negotiate supplier pricing through P2/SMS stages, and hand over cost data to Buying.
3. Assist with 2D CAD handover, 2nd prototype creation, and SMS stages for selected categories under guidance.
4. Build and update tech packs, maintain the materials library, and manage component code creation.
5. Support sample tracking: scheduling, measuring, attending fit sessions, and documenting fit feedback.
6. Prepare agendas and materials for P1 reviews and supplier meetings; send SMS/BOMs as needed.
7. Communicate via phone, email, and video with suppliers to resolve queries and maintain project milestones.
8. Provide administrative support: workspace upkeep, ad‑hoc tasks from Head of Product Development, and overall PD team coordination.
Required Skills:
• Proficient in tech pack and sample tracking tools.
• Understanding of garment construction, especially knitwear, outerwear, insulation, swimwear, wovens, and accessories.
• Costing analysis and supplier negotiation.
• Strong written and verbal communication across global suppliers.
• Detail‑oriented data entry, library management, and issue resolution.
• Team collaboration and time‑management in fast‑paced, multi‑channel retail setting.
Required Education & Certifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Product Development, Garment Technology, Buying, or similar.
• Relevant industry experience (1‑2+ years) in fashion product development or sustainability‑led apparel company.
