**Job Title**
Senior Cloud Systems Engineer – Azure
**Role Summary**
Design, implement, and maintain secure, highly‑available Microsoft Azure infrastructures that support enterprise applications and data services. Lead automation, monitoring, and governance initiatives while ensuring compliance with industry standards and driving cost optimization across the organization.
**Expectations**

- Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and improve cloud environments, ensuring 24/7 operational excellence.
- Champion IaC, CI/CD, and DevOps best practices to streamline deployments and reduce manual effort.

- Serve as the technical authority for cloud security and compliance initiatives.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Architect and deploy scalable private, public, and hybrid Azure environments using Azure Compute, Storage, Networking, and Virtual Machines.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, and dashboards with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and cost‑management tools.
- Design and validate high‑availability and disaster‑recovery plans using Azure Site Recovery, Azure Backup, and Zerto.
- Develop PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM/Bicep templates, and Azure DevOps pipelines to automate infrastructure provisioning.
- Manage Azure AD authentication, MFA, conditional access, and RBAC for secure identity and access control.
- Configure and enforce security controls (NSG, DLP, Zero Trust, Azure Security Center, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Key Vault).
- Ensure compliance with SOX, SOC 2, ISO, PCI‑DSS, HIPAA, and other regulatory frameworks.
- Lead incident response, technical support, and vendor coordination for rapid issue resolution.
- Conduct capacity planning, cost‑optimization, and resource‑tagging strategies to reduce overhead.
- Participate in global support and on‑call rotations as part of a follow‑the‑sun model.
**Required Skills**
- Deep expertise in Azure services: Compute, Storage, Networking, VNet, NSG, VPN, ExpressRoute, Private Endpoints.
- Strong IaC skills with ARM, Bicep, or Terraform; automation with PowerShell/CLI; CI/CD with Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Azure Site Recovery, Backup, Zerto, and data protection strategies.
- Proficiency in Azure Governance: Policy, Blueprints, RBAC, Azure Policy, and Cost Management.
- Security architecture: Azure AD, MFA, Conditional Access, Key Vault, Sentinel, Defender for Cloud, NSG, DLP.
- Familiarity with Azure Storage, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Logic Apps, Functions, Event Grid.
- Monitoring: Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure Cost Management, custom dashboards.
- Incident management and troubleshooting in production cloud environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication; ability to collaborate across distributed teams.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Administrator Associate.
- Additional certifications (e.g., Azure Security Engineer Associate, DevOps Engineer Expert) preferred.
