Job Description
Job Title: Electrical Engineer Intern Role Summary: Provide hands‑on engineering support in the design, fabrication, and modification of electrical and electro‑mechanical systems. Work on a variety of projects involving circuit design, vehicle integration, electrical packaging, and system analysis to meet production and quality requirements. Expectations: Deliver assigned tasks within deadlines, participate actively in team design sessions, troubleshoot and validate existing products, and communicate status clearly. Operate largely independently with minimal supervision while demonstrating professional judgment, problem‑solving, and strong interpersonal skills. Key Responsibilities - Support technical electrical engineering activities across the design life‑cycle. - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to concept, design, and integrate system‑level and component‑level electrical systems. - Develop block diagrams, detailed designs, perform simulations, debug, and test electrical and electro‑mechanical components. - Analyze electrical systems and document design specifications and revisions. - Diagnose malfunctions, conduct root‑cause failure analyses, and propose corrective modifications. - Design and fabricate custom fixtures for testing, evaluation, and manufacturing. - Communicate progress and technical issues through written reports and oral presentations. - Assist in evaluating supplier components, subsystems, and services. Required Skills - Proficiency with schematic capture and PCB layout tools; experience using electrical CAD software. - Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and debugging capabilities. - Ability to read and interpret commercial and military electrical drawings. - Knowledge of root‑cause failure analysis techniques. - Experience designing and testing electrical systems at both system‑ and component‑levels. - Skilled in developing test fixtures and evaluating supplier parts. - Excellent written and verbal communication; teamwork and independence. Required Education & Certifications - High school diploma or GED. - Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field. - Previous internship, co‑op, or industry experience is preferred but not required.
