**Job title:**
DevOps Engineer Consultant
**Role Summary:**
Consultant responsible for designing, auditing, and optimizing DevSecOps environments for clients. Provides automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure‑as‑code solutions across major cloud platforms, ensuring security, reliability, and scalability. Operates under agency leadership, collaborates closely with technical teams and clients, and drives continuous improvement of development pipelines.
**Expectations:**
- Self‑directed work with minimal manual infrastructure creation.
- Strong advocacy for automation and security practices that deliver client value.
- Support for the broader DevSecOps team, including troubleshooting and knowledge transfer.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Conduct comprehensive audits of client DevSecOps environments.
2. Produce formal technical reports and deliver clear, actionable recommendations.
3. Design, develop, and maintain infrastructure using Terraform and Ansible.
4. Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, and GitHub Actions.
5. Deploy and manage container workloads on Kubernetes, Rancher, and Docker.
6. Configure observability with Opentelemetry, Prometheus, and Grafana.
7. Implement security controls, including secrets management (Vault, VaultWarden) and static/ dynamic analysis tools (SonarQube).
8. Mentor and support team members on tools such as GitLab, GitHub, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, and Sonar.
9. Coordinate with clients and internal stakeholders to align DevOps strategies with business objectives.
**Required Skills:**
- Proficient with at least one major Cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP); experience with two preferred.
- Hands‑on experience with Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher, Helm.
- CI/CD expertise: Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions.
- Version control: Git, GitLab, GitHub.
- Monitoring & observability: Opentelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana.
- Security practices: IaC scanning, container scanning, secrets management.
- Scripting: Bash, Python, PowerShell.
- Strong analytical, documentation, and presentation skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
- Certification(s) preferred:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect / Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect / Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect.
- HashiCorp Certified: Terraform Associate and/or Red Hat Certified Ansible Automation Engineer.
- Additional security or IaC certifications (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Certified DevOps Professional).
