Job Description
Job title: IT Field Technician – Laptop Deployment Role Summary: Field-based engineer responsible for provisioning, configuring, and delivering laptops to healthcare users across multiple sites using Intune and Autopilot. Ensures devices are imaging, tested, and ready for deployment while maintaining detailed records and providing on‑site support. Expactations: • Work independently, managing own schedule. • Communicate effectively with end‑users, resolve technical issues professionally. • Travel regionally from Leeds, holding a full UK driving licence. • Maintain BPSS clearance and complete brief training before deployment. Key Responsibilities: • Deploy and configure laptops for end users. • Image, configure, and roll out software via Intune and Autopilot. • Set up, test, and validate devices prior to delivery. • Record and track work progress and device status. • Collect, inventory, and dispose of old devices in compliance with procedures. • Identify technical problems and recommend improvements to the deployment process. • Manage own field schedule and travel itinerary. Required Skills: • Proven experience in laptop deployment and technical support. • Strong knowledge of Intune, Autopilot, and modern device rollout practices. • Ability to troubleshoot configuration and imaging issues. • Excellent communication and user‑interaction skills. • Highly organized, self‑motivated, and capable of working with minimal supervision. • Basic ability to track progress (burn‑down charts experience is a bonus). Required Education & Certifications: • Full UK driving licence. • BPSS clearance. • Relevant work experience in laptop deployment; formal degree or certification not required.
