**Job Title** DoD SkillBridge Program Internship **Role Summary** Provides U.S. service members with experiential civilian work opportunities during the final 180 days of active duty. Interns gain hands‑on experience in a diverse set of business functions, from flight operations to engineering, maintenance, manufacturing, supply‑chain logistics, business support, government affairs, and IT/cybersecurity. **Expectations** - Must be an active U.S. military service member eligible for the SkillBridge program. - Attend all scheduled onboarding, training, and mentor‑guided assignments. - Maintain military pay, benefits, and chain‑of‑command oversight while fulfilling civilian internship duties. - Complete all required documentation and conduct a post‑internship debrief. **Key Responsibilities** *Department‑specific tasks (examples)* - **Flight Operations:** Assist pilots with mission planning, flight data analysis, and operational reviews. - **Engineering:** Support design, testing, and analysis efforts in aerospace, electrical, mechanical, software, or mechatronics disciplines. - **Aircraft Maintenance / A&P:** Conduct inspections, troubleshoot avionics, and document maintenance records. - **Manufacturing:** Participate in production line support, quality assurance, and process improvement. - **Strategic Business Support / Government Affairs:** Help develop business strategies, coordinate with regulatory bodies, and manage stakeholder communications. - **Supply Chain / Logistics:** Manage parts inventory, coordinate shipping, and optimize supply‑chain workflows. - **Information Technology / Cybersecurity:** Assist with network administration, security assessments, and cyber‑defense initiatives. **Required Skills** - Strong communication and collaboration across technical and non‑technical teams. - Adaptability, problem‑solving, and a proactive learning attitude. - Time‑management skills to balance civilian responsibilities with military commitments. - Able to follow detailed instructions and maintain rigorous documentation. - Basic proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., CAD, MATLAB, Excel, or IT security platforms) as applicable to chosen department. **Required Education & Certifications** - Current active duty military service member, with data‑driven, technical, or management training or coursework relevant to the selected department. - Technical certifications (e.g., A&P, CAD, cybersecurity) helpful but not mandatory. - No specific educational degree required for all roles; department may prefer degree or equivalent experience in related field. ---
