**Job Title:**
Software or Computer Engineering Intern – Summer 2026
**Role Summary:**
Full‑time (40 hrs/week) summer internship supporting the development, integration, testing, and verification of software for modern combat vehicle systems. Participants will work alongside experienced engineers, apply engineering standards, and contribute to documentation and troubleshooting activities in a secure, defense‑focused environment.
**Expectations:**
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program (minimum sophomore standing) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Robotics, or Cybersecurity.
- Proficient in at least one programming language (C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada).
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot computer or network issues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and follow engineering documentation standards.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Perform hands‑on systems integration and testing of electronic/electro‑mechanical components in software labs and on tactical vehicle hardware.
- Develop integration, verification, and validation plans, procedures, test reports, and status documentation for new software releases.
- Analyze design specifications, drawings, and test results to ensure compliance with engineering standards and military specifications.
- Conduct non‑routine fault isolation, diagnosis, and repair of test and tactical systems using standard test equipment.
- Support documentation of test activities and contribute to continuous improvement of integration processes.
**Required Skills:**
- Programming: C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada.
- Computer and network troubleshooting.
- Fundamental software development concepts and practices.
- Proficiency with standard office and documentation tools.
- Effective interpersonal and communication abilities.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Robotics, or Cybersecurity.
- Minimum sophomore standing.
- (Preferred) Certifications: Security+, CSSLP, CISSP.
- (Preferred) Experience with CAN bus, J1939, Ethernet, Serial, 1553 protocols, Linux, real‑time operating systems, version control, and issue‑tracking tools.
