Job Description
**Job Title:** Category Manager **Role Summary:** Develops and executes trade‑marketing strategies for assigned brands, driving sales growth, profitability, and brand equity through collaborative planning with suppliers, agencies, and sales teams. **Expectations:** - Deliver measurable sales and margin improvements. - Optimize promotional spend and in‑store assets. - Ensure accurate demand forecasting and inventory balance. - Align brand initiatives with customer and channel requirements. **Key Responsibilities:** - Own the trade‑marketing business plan for assigned brand(s) and execute national and tailored activities. - Manage supplier relationships, co‑create sales business plans, and secure brand support in the market. - Allocate and monitor initiative funds to maximize ROI for each brand. - Forecast sales, analyze channel data, and provide actionable insights. - Coordinate with local agencies on brand marketing, in‑store, and POS material development and deployment. - Communicate brand plans to the sales team, conduct field visits, and relay observations for execution assurance. - Collect and translate sales team customer objectives into brand plans that align with customer goals. - Analyse market dynamics (competitors, pricing, range, activities) to inform category strategies. **Required Skills:** - Strong analytical and data‑driven decision making. - Budget management and cost optimisation. - Supplier relationship management. - Cross‑functional coordination (sales, marketing, logistics). - Excellent communication and presentation. - Field visit execution and store audit proficiency. - Proficient in Microsoft Office and BI/analytic tools. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field from a reputable university. - Minimum 3–5 years of FMCG trade marketing or sales experience. - Operational & managerial experience in a fast‑moving consumer goods environment.
