Engineering Manager, Platform – Cloud Infrastructure
**Role Summary**
Lead a high‑impact engineering team focused on designing, building, and operating the foundational cloud infrastructure that powers all platform products. Own technical strategy, execution, and mentorship while driving scalability, reliability, security, and developer experience in a fast‑growing, regulated‑industry environment.
**Expectations**
- Deliver a scalable, secure, and highly reliable cloud platform supporting >100 million background jobs per day and a projected 10× growth.
- Balance short‑term operational priorities with long‑term architectural vision.
- Act as a people‑first leader: recruit, coach, give 360° feedback, and foster a high‑agency, high‑accountability culture.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Lead a team of 5+ engineers in infrastructure and platform tooling.
- Own technical strategy, planning, and execution for core initiatives (e.g., adopting Vitess, ClickHouse, Redis; scaling batch processing; building sandbox environments).
- Serve as a hands‑on mentor and contributor: guide architecture, write code, and debug distributed systems.
- Collaborate with product, operations, and cross‑functional stakeholders to align platform capabilities with business needs.
- Establish and evolve engineering processes to improve velocity, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Drive recruiting, hiring, and talent development, ensuring a feedback‑driven, high‑performance team.
**Required Skills**
- 4+ years software engineering with 1+ years in leadership/tech‑lead role.
- Proven experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, or cloud systems.
- Deep knowledge of cloud providers (AWS, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and distributed systems.
- Strong systems thinking and understanding of backend–infrastructure interactions.
- Ability to translate business problems into scalable technical solutions.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder alignment, and people‑management skills.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, GCP Professional Cloud Architect, Kubernetes Certified Administrator) are a plus.
