Expectations: Own end‑to‑end design and implementation of agent state, tools, workflows, and evaluation; build indexing, search, and retrieval infrastructure; develop robust data ingestion pipelines; integrate LLMs and embeddings; establish guardrails, observability, and cost controls; collaborate with founders and product teams to deliver user‑centric features. Key Responsibilities: - Design, implement, and maintain core agent architecture (state, tools, workflows, evaluations). - Build and optimize indexing, search, and retrieval systems to support agent reasoning. - Develop and sustain data ingestion pipelines that transform raw inputs into structured context. - Integrate large language models, embeddings, and retrieval infrastructure into production environments. - Create guardrails, evaluation frameworks, and observability pipelines for reliability, performance, and cost management. - Partner with founders and product stakeholders to translate user requirements into ship‑ready functionality. Required Skills: - 3+ years in backend, platform, or infrastructure engineering. - Strong fundamentals in data structures, APIs, asynchronous systems, and distributed services. - Experience building production data pipelines, ETL systems, and search/retrieval infrastructure. - Proficiency in Python and TypeScript for production systems. - (Optional) Knowledge of embeddings, vector databases, hybrid search, developer tools, and handling unstructured/domain‑specific data. Required Education & Certifications: - Undergraduate degree or minor in Mathematics (or related field).
