**Job Title** Software Intern **Role Summary** A 12‑week internship focused on developing system‑level, firmware, infrastructure, and simulation tooling for AI inference hardware. Interns work across the stack—from low‑level drivers and performance telemetry to cloud‑scale pipeline construction and tooling ecosystems—supporting the deployment of high‑performance transformer inference systems. **Expectations** - Complete a 12‑week paid internship (June–August). - Progress toward a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field. - Deliver functional code, documentation, and demos that enable reliable, high‑throughput inference or training workloads. - Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and cross‑functional collaboration with hardware, architecture, and software teams. **Key Responsibilities** 1. **Systems Software** – design, develop, and deploy ML system software for rack‑scale AI workloads; manage network performance, telemetry pipelines, and system health analysis; provision secure, high‑performance frameworks for data‑center ML runs. 2. **Firmware** – implement low‑level drivers, hardware interfaces, system initialization, and integration with runtime libraries for custom ASICs; validate new silicon features and support real‑world inference cases. 3. **Infrastructure & Core Software** – build and improve infrastructure tooling (HPC clusters, CI/CD pipelines, IaC, observability platforms); enable rapid iteration and reliability for ASIC, software, and platform engineers. 4. **Chip Simulation & Tooling** – co‑design, develop, and test simulation models and tools that represent custom hardware behavior; collaborate tightly with hardware and software teams across the development lifecycle. **Required Skills** - Proficiency in **C/C++ or Rust**; proficiency in **Python** (particularly for systems software). - Strong fundamentals in **data structures & algorithms**. - Deep understanding of **low‑level software engineering** concepts and **hardware/software co‑design**. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills. **Preferred Additional Skills** - Experience with **Linux internals**, kernel development, or driver debugging. - Hardware diagnostics experience, interpreting hardware logs. - Exposure to **server virtualization** or CI/CD pipelines. - Background in **Rust** or embedded development. **Required Education & Certifications** - Current enrollment toward a **Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD** degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an adjacent technical discipline.
