Job Description

Job title: Programme Data Analyst Role Summary: Analyze and report on education program data for large-scale DfE‑funded initiatives. Design and maintain Power BI dashboards, produce Excel reports, and translate data into actionable insights for schools, policy makers, and senior stakeholders. Expectations: - Deliver accurate, insight‑driven analyses that evaluate programme effectiveness. - Communicate findings clearly to non‑technical audiences, including government officials and school leaders. - Support program teams in data‑driven decision making and improve reporting consistency. Key Responsibilities: - Build, test, and maintain Power BI dashboards and Excel reports depicting education KPIs. - Validate, cleanse, and merge datasets from schools, local authorities, and delivery partners. - Track metrics such as attendance, engagement, attainment, and teaching quality. - Produce narrative reports and presentations for the DfE, local authorities, and education leaders. - Champion a single source of truth for programme reporting. - Collaborate with programme teams to embed data use into planning and evaluation cycles. Required Skills: - Advanced Power BI expertise (DAX, data modelling). - High‑level Excel proficiency (PowerPivot, automation, complex formulas). - SQL for data extraction and combination. - Strong analytical and storytelling abilities for non‑technical audiences. - Ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders, including government and education leaders. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Education, or related field. - Professional certifications in Power BI (advanced) or data analysis (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate) are preferred. - Experience with DfE reporting frameworks and logic models is desirable.
