**Job Title:** Quality Assurance Technician
**Role Summary:**
Conduct quality control testing of raw source water, processing stages, and finished bottled water products to ensure compliance with FDA, State, Local, and International Bottled Water Association (IBWA) standards. Document all analyses, support plant QA programs, and assist in preventive controls and sanitary operations.
**Expactations:**
- Perform microbiological and wet chemistry tests per Standard Methods and PWNA SOPs.
- Maintain accurate, detailed records of all testing, inspections, and equipment status.
- Act independently while collaborating with production and maintenance teams.
- Contribute to regulatory audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Test source water, process, and finished product samples for E. coli, Total Coliform, heterotrophic plate count, and wet chemistry parameters.
- Document results and maintain traceability of raw materials, treatment equipment, and production processes.
- Monitor adherence to FDA, State, local, IBWA, and PWNA quality standards.
- Participate in the Food Safety team and support compliance with all applicable bottled water regulations.
- Assist with Clean‑In‑Place (CIP) procedures for water processing equipment.
- Manage multiple tasks and priorities while keeping an organized work environment.
- Operate water processing and mineral batching controls to changeover production lines.
- Perform additional duties as directed, including audit support and preventive controls implementation.
**Required Skills:**
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and written/oral communication skills.
- Knowledge of food safety principles, cGMP, GLP, and aseptic sampling techniques.
- Ability to perform physical tasks: stoop, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Comfortable working independently and in team settings with limited supervision.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Microbiology, Food Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field.
- IBWA Certified Plant Operator (CPO) certification, maintained throughout employment.
- Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) certification (required for FDA FSMA compliance).
- Safe Quality Food (SQF) Practitioner certification (required for MV & CAN operations, optional elsewhere).
