Job Description

Job title: AI Engineer (AI/LLM Engineer) Role Summary: Design, prototype, and launch AI-powered features using large language models (LLMs) and retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) to enhance CareMeasurement’s analytics platform. The role focuses on expanding conversational capabilities, building agentic workflows, and delivering context‑aware insights for healthcare stakeholders. Expectations: - Own end‑to‑end development of production‑grade AI features. - Collaborate closely with product managers, clinicians, and backend engineers to create user‑centric experiences. - Continuously evaluate model performance, gather feedback, and iterate. - Stay abreast of LLM advances and propose practical applications within healthcare analytics. Key Responsibilities: - Engineer AI functionalities with LLMs, including prompt design and API orchestration. - Implement RAG pipelines using vector databases (e.g., Postgres/pgvector). - Extend the natural language interface to support complex queries and agentic tasks such as summarization, cost‑saving recommendations, and report generation. - Build orchestration layers for reliable, explainable AI responses across OpenAI’s APIs and company data pipelines. - Monitor model outputs, track usage metrics, and refine solutions based on quantitative and qualitative feedback. - Communicate technical findings and strategic recommendations to cross‑functional teams. Required Skills: - Strong proficiency in Python for building production features. - Hands‑on experience with frontier LLMs (OpenAI, Gemini, Anthropic) and prompt engineering. - Knowledge of vector databases and RAG architecture. - Familiarity with backend development (the use of Django, MySQL, AWS is advantageous). - Ability to design and maintain scalable orchestration layers. - Excellent collaboration and communication skills; user‑focused mindset. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. - 2+ years of backend or data‑intensive application development, preferably in SaaS. - 1+ year of direct work with LLM APIs, prompt engineering, and deployment pipelines. - No specific certifications required, but familiarity with HIPAA‐compliant systems is a bonus.
