Job Description
**Job Title:** Underwriting Intern **Role Summary:** 12‑week paid internship providing hands‑on experience within a commercial, personal, environmental, or professional insurance underwriting team. Supports underwriting activities, client communications, and special projects while developing business, communication, and leadership skills. **Expectations:** - Full‑time (40 hrs/week) for 12 weeks; 4 days on‑site, 1 day remote. - Collaborate with senior leaders and attend client meetings. - Complete assigned tasks accurately and meet deadlines. - Maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all interactions. **Key Responsibilities:** - Assist with underwriting and cross‑selling for renewal portfolios and new business submissions. - Participate in agent marketing calls and client meetings. - Support insurance policy renewals and update related data in Microsoft Excel. - Analyze client needs to recommend appropriate programs or markets. - Communicate loss notices, policy changes, and other underwriting updates. - Contribute to special projects under senior leadership guidance. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). - Strong analytical and quantitative abilities. - Effective written and verbal communication. - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. - Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate program. - Preferred majors: Risk Management & Insurance, Business, Finance, or related field. - Anticipated graduation: December 2026 or May 2027. - Prior internship experience preferred (not mandatory).
