Job Description

**Job Title:** Custodian - Casual **Role Summary:** Provide routine cleaning and maintenance of interior and exterior spaces, ensuring facilities meet health, safety, and aesthetic standards. Operate on a shift-by-shift basis with no guaranteed hours, supporting the organization’s commitment to a safe, welcoming environment for guests and staff. **Expactations:** * Work during scheduled casual shifts; flexibility with odd, long, or off‑hour work as needed. * Maintain physical fitness to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 lbs. * Adhere to WHMIS, Occupational Health & Safety guidelines, and corporate cleaning protocols. **Key Responsibilities:** * Clean floors, walls, glass, and other surfaces using appropriate chemicals and equipment. * Remove rubbish and ensure waste disposal areas are orderly. * Keep janitorial rooms stocked and clean at shift end. * Maintain a safe, tidy interior and exterior environment for buildings and grounds. * Perform additional duties as directed to support facility operations. **Required Skills:** * Ability to follow detailed instructions with minimal supervision. * Strong interpersonal skills; effective team collaboration. * Time‑management and commitment to delivering quality results. * Capacity to work fast‑paced and adapt to changing priorities. * Physical ability to sustain standing, walking, and manual handling for a full shift. **Required Education & Certifications:** * Grade 12 education (preferred). * Knowledge of WHMIS program and Occupational Health & Safety standards (preferred). * Experience working with chemicals and janitorial machinery (preferred). * Valid Criminal Record Check maintained throughout employment.
