Job Description

Job Title: Virtualization Engineer Role Summary: Design, implement, and maintain VMware‑based infrastructure (ESXi, vSAN, NSX, vCloud Foundations, ARIA Automation) using Infrastructure as Code. Ensure security, scalability, and high availability while collaborating with government engineers on the AECC architecture. Provide day‑to‑day administration, monitoring, and on‑call support for production incidents. Expactations: - Deliver secure, automated deployments for customer enclaves. - Harden VMware components following commercial best practices and DoD cyber controls. - Conduct root‑cause analysis and maintain comprehensive documentation. - Forecast resource needs and recommend enhancements to performance, security, and manageability. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain IaC for VMware suite deployment and sustainment in AECC. - Administer VMware products: patching, upgrading, performance monitoring. - Provision customer enclaves via IaC. - Harden VMware products per commercial and government cybersecurity requirements. - Monitor virtualization resource utilization; alert AECC lead for scaling. - Provide on‑call support for after‑hours production incidents. - Document system diagrams, network topology, configurations, and SOPs. - Recommend improvements across network, storage, and compute services.
