Job Title: Director of Sales Role Summary: Senior executive responsible for driving revenue growth and managing all existing client relationships across mass retail, drug, grocery, discount, and department stores. Leads the sales department’s planning, P&L, team development, and process design, transitioning the organization to a scalable, data‑driven sales model while preserving entrepreneurial agility. Manages merchandising and client service operations, ensuring store‑level execution excellence and long‑term partnership health. Expectations: - Direct oversight of revenue generation and commercial strategy for the full client portfolio. - Ownership of sales P&L, forecasting, and performance metrics. - Lead cross‑functional collaboration with marketing, product, operations, and finance to align strategy, forecasting, and inventory. - Build and sustain a high‑performance sales organization, including hiring, training, and accountability systems. - Ensure seamless handoff of new business from business development to account management and maintain client continuity. Key Responsibilities: 1. **Revenue Growth & Commercial Strategy** – Own commercial aspects of all current clients; analyze opportunities, drive tailored growth plans, and improve margins. 2. **Sales Organization Design** – Define and evolve structure to scale with business objectives; establish KPIs, performance workflows, and training programs. 3. **Client Service & Program Execution** – Lead client service function, ensuring timely, high‑quality delivery of retail programs and acting as escalation point for challenges. 4. **In‑Store Merchandising Oversight** – Manage planogram compliance, execute store‑level excellence initiatives, and foster innovation in shelf presence. 5. **Cross‑Functional Collaboration** – Partner with marketing, product, operations, and finance to align forecasting, costing, and inventory planning; translate client insights into actionable strategies. 6. **Process Improvement & Systems** – Design scalable sales systems, tools for planning, forecasting, and reporting; drive technology adoption to empower the team. 7. **New Business Handoff & Integration** – Coordinate with Business Development to ensure smooth transition of new accounts to account management. 8. **Leadership Team Participation** – Serve on senior leadership team, contribute to company‑wide strategy, goal setting, and cultural stewardship. Required Skills: - Advanced sales forecasting, reporting, and analytics. - End‑to‑end sales process development (demand generation to retention). - Talent management: hiring, training, and developing high‑performing sales and account teams. - Structured selling (discovery, questioning, listening, follow‑through). - CPG‑informed retail methodology with adaptability to fast‑moving markets. - Proposal & presentation design; polished, strategic communication. - Negotiation, pricing analysis, and financial acumen. - Cross‑functional coordination, stakeholder alignment. - Clear, persuasive communication across all levels. - Experience in packaged goods, private label, licensing, and major retail channels. - Category expertise in fashion accessories (jewelry, hair, sunglasses, watches). Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or related field (MBA preferred). - Proven certifications in sales management, retail analytics, or related credentials advantageous.
