**Job Title**
System Engineer
**Role Summary**
Design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure for in‑house applications across acceptance and production environments, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. Collaborate with stakeholders on architecture decisions, troubleshoot complex issues, and provide 2nd/3rd level support while maintaining comprehensive documentation.
**Expectations**
- Fluency in English (mandatory) and either French or Dutch.
- 24/7 on‑call duty (1 on 24 week).
- Rapid mastery of new technologies within one year.
- Continuous knowledge transfer to team members.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Deploy and manage Windows IIS, SQL, RabbitMQ, Redis, and other core application stacks.
- Participate in design/architectural discussions, driving requirements analysis and deployment strategies.
- Configure and optimize F5 load balancers, VLANs, DNS, proxies, and firewalls.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis and escalated troubleshooting for complex system issues.
- Prepare and maintain system architecture and installation documentation.
- Provide 2nd/3rd level support, interfacing with Microsoft and other third‑party vendors.
- Join the duty roster (24/7, 1 in 6 weeks).
- Analyze stakeholder requests, assess implications, devise solutions, and risk mitigate.
**Required Skills**
- Windows Server administration (2012‑2022): deployment, log verification, health monitoring.
- Linux fundamentals (RedHat preferred).
- IIS management and web site deployment.
- PowerShell; Bash and/or Python scripting.
- Databases: MS‑SQL, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, NEO4J, Redis Cache (bonus).
- Network protocols, VLANs, DNS, proxies, firewalls, load balancing.
- Security: TLS/SSL, encryption, password management, secret keys.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- High‑level communication (written & verbal).
- Ability to learn and master new tech within 12 months and teach peers.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Relevant certifications: Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect or Windows Server, RedHat Certified System Administrator, or equivalent are preferred.
