Job Title: Engineering Manager
Role Summary: Lead a distributed product engineering team, integrating technical execution, product strategy, and people leadership to deliver high‑impact features and scale engineering culture.
Expectations: • 12+ years in software engineering, 3+ years in management or tech lead roles. • Proven ability to hire, coach, and grow engineers in fast‑paced or startup environments. • Hands‑on technical depth with AWS, Django, Next.js, PostgreSQL, Redis, and modern CI/CD. • Strong product mindset, comfortable collaborating with product managers, designers, and founders.
Key Responsibilities: • Recruit, onboard, mentor, and develop engineers across all levels. • Foster inclusive, high‑performance culture in a distributed team. • Partner with product and design leads to define roadmaps, scope initiatives, and ensure on‑time, high‑quality releases. • Conduct technical design reviews, enforce best practices in testing, reliability, security, and scalability. • Optimize delivery velocity and team innovation as a force multiplier. • Transition from hands‑on engineering to full leadership over first quarter, providing deep technical insight.
Required Skills: • Leadership & mentorship, trust‑building, accountable decision‑making. • Experience with AWS Fargate, Redis, PostgreSQL, SQS, CDK, GitHub, Django REST, Celery, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, GCP Vertex, OpenAI, Claude. • Design‑review facilitation, trade‑off analysis, and scalability thinking. • Product ownership, bias for shipping customer value, balancing speed with quality. • Excellent communication and collaboration across cross‑functional teams.
Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Certified Scrum Master) are a plus.
