Job Description
Job Title: Business Intelligence Developer Role Summary: Design, develop, and maintain enterprise‑level BI solutions that support data‑driven decision making in a regulated healthcare environment. Responsible for creating dashboards, data models, and ETL pipelines that deliver accurate, timely insights to business stakeholders. Expectations: - Deliver reliable, performant BI reports and dashboards that meet business requirements. - Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance across all BI artifacts. - Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of BI systems. - Collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions. Key Responsibilities: - Build and maintain advanced dashboards and visualizations using Power BI Service, AWS QuickSight, or comparable platforms. - Design and implement efficient ETL processes with SSIS, Azure Data Factory, or similar tools. - Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and user‑defined functions in Microsoft SQL Server 2020+. - Create and manage data models in SSAS and support analysis and reporting across the organization. - Conduct unit, integration, and system testing to validate accuracy and performance of BI deliverables. - Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues; propose system improvements. - Lead proof‑of‑concept projects to evaluate emerging BI technologies. - Support system upgrades, coordinate user acceptance testing, and deliver training to end users. - Engage with internal teams and external vendors to address infrastructure or technical challenges. Required Skills: - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft SQL Server (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS) and complex query development. - Experience designing, implementing, and validating ETL workflows and data quality checks. - Development experience in Visual Studio with C# or VB.NET and ASP.NET. - Strong knowledge of BI environments, cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), and Power BI Service. - Familiarity with AWS QuickSight, Azure Data Services, and related cloud BI tools. - Problem‑solving, performance tuning, and strong communication skills. Required Education & Certifications: - Post‑secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (equivalent work experience acceptable). - 3–4 years of professional experience in BI development, data warehousing, analytics, or a similar role. - Experience in regulated environments such as healthcare, aviation, or public sector is an asset.
