**Job Title**
Propulsion System Safety Engineer (M/F)
**Role Summary**
Lead safety assurance for propulsion systems and related components within Airbus aircraft R&D. Drive safety analysis, requirement definition, flight‑clearance process, and certification strategy for hybrid propulsion and innovative motor concepts, collaborating closely with propulsion integration, avionics safety, motor/propulsion suppliers, and technology vendors.
**Expectations**
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in propulsion safety and certification.
- Demonstrated competence in CS‑25 regulatory framework, propulsion system knowledge, electrical system integration, and verification & validation.
- Strong analytical, synthesis, and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to lead and facilitate technical meetings, coordinate cross‑functional processes, and work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team.
- Advanced proficiency in English required; additional languages a plus.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Conduct propulsion system safety analyses and functional risk assessments.
2. Develop and maintain safety and system‑level requirements for propulsion systems and components.
3. Coordinate flight‑clearance activities—define requirements, plan verification, collect data, and synthesize outcomes.
4. Lead the certification strategy for upcoming products—establish plans, verify compliance, prepare reports.
5. Interface with propulsion integration, avionics safety, motor/propulsion, and supplier teams to ensure alignment on safety objectives.
6. Document processes, produce technical briefs, and support certification documentation flow.
**Required Skills**
- Proficiency in CS‑25 regulations and FAA/ EASA certification processes.
- Solid understanding of propulsion systems (jet, hybrid, electric) and associated electrical subsystems.
- Experience in system safety analysis, functional risk evaluation, and V&V.
- Capability to draft clear, concise safety requirement documents and synthesis reports.
- Meeting facilitation, project coordination, and cross‑functional collaboration.
- Strong organizational, analytical, synthesis, and independent work ethic.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline.
- Preferably specialized in Propulsion Systems, Motorization, or Safety & Certification.
- Minimum 3 years of industry experience in safety certification for aircraft propulsion.
- Optional certifications in safety analysis (e.g., FSMA, ISO 26262) or related standards.
