Job Description
Job Title: Second Line IT Support Engineer/Technician Role Summary: Provide advanced technical support for hardware, software, and network issues, resolving escalated incidents from first-line staff and maintaining system reliability across the organization. Expectations: Deliver high‑quality, timely resolution of complex support tickets; maintain compliance with IT policies and security standards; contribute to continuous improvement of support processes; collaborate effectively with vendors and internal teams. Key Responsibilities: • Handle second‑line support for Windows, macOS, servers, printers, and mobile devices via phone, email, and ticketing systems. • Troubleshoot and resolve escalated incidents, including hardware, software, and network problems. • Administer user accounts, permissions, and access in Active Directory and Microsoft 365. • Maintain servers, printers, and network infrastructure. • Collaborate with third‑party vendors for issue resolution. • Document solutions and update the IT knowledge base. • Assist in system upgrades, migrations, and deployments. Required Skills: • Proven experience in a second‑line IT support role. • Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and networking fundamentals. • Proficiency with remote support tools and ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, Zendesk). • Familiarity with ITIL practices (plus). • Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills. • Ability to work independently and in a team. Required Education & Certifications: • Relevant IT certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator, or equivalent.
