**Job Title** Assistant Quantity Surveyor **Role Summary** Provide commercial and administrative support to the project team to ensure payment applications, cost control activities, and contract administration tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and in line with project requirements. **Expectations** - Proactive, self‑starter capable of working independently. - Detail‑oriented, with strong commercial awareness and a solid understanding of financial/commercial processes. - Ability to adapt quickly and take ownership of tasks. **Key Responsibilities** - Prepare, review, and submit periodic payment applications (two per period) in accordance with the timetable, ensuring accuracy and complete supporting documentation. - Maintain hyperlinks to supporting documents and verify all attachments before submission. - Assist with cost reconciliations to reduce Work in Progress and convert into applied‑for value. - Raise Early Warning Notices (EWNs) and price Compensation Events via CEMAR following contract procedures. - Support general commercial administration throughout the project lifecycle. - Contribute to procurement activities: prepare contract documents and tender materials, liaise with subcontractors for quotes and clarification, and issue purchase orders (POs) and material requisitions. - Provide assistance on ad‑hoc commercial tasks as required by the team. **Required Skills** - Experience in Facilities Management (FM) and commercial administration in construction. - Knowledge of payment application processes and cost control systems. - Familiarity with CEMAR or similar contract management platforms. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Strong analytical and organisational abilities; meticulous attention to detail. - Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple deadlines. **Required Education & Certifications** - Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline. - Professional qualification (e.g., RICS, BQS, or equivalent) is an advantage. - Training will be provided on payment application compilation if not already possessed.
