Job Description
**Job Title:** Project Assistant (Student) **Role Summary:** Temporary 2–4‑month position supporting construction, environmental, and project management activities for Canadian Armed Forces and Department of National Defence clients. Works under supervision to assist with project documentation, contract monitoring, data analysis, and administrative tasks while gaining office and field experience. **Expectations:** - Demonstrate strong critical‑thinking, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills. - Work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, multi‑disciplinary environment. - Maintain accuracy and attention to detail in all deliverables. - Meet security clearance requirements (minimum 10 years residence for Reliability/Secret clearance). - Possess mandatory spoken and written French; English is an asset. **Key Responsibilities:** - Research, prepare, and present documentation for project initiation, development, and implementation. - Provide project and program management support, including schedule and record maintenance. - Monitor construction, property, and environmental contracts; verify compliance and report deviations. - Compile and analyse data to create visual and analytical reporting tools using automated sources. - Assist with renovation and new‑construction projects, including tender review of plans/specifications. - Participate in consultant, construction, and staff meetings; take minutes and follow‑up on action items. - Deliver general administrative support (document control, filing, correspondence). **Required Skills:** - Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). - Strong analytical and critical‑thinking abilities. - Excellent written and oral communication in French; English proficiency preferred. - Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills. - Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. - Basic understanding of construction, engineering, or environmental concepts. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Architecture, Environmental Studies, Data Sciences, or related field (Technical Diploma or Bachelor’s degree). - Minimum age requirement for employment in Quebec. - Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle preferred. - Eligibility to work in Canada (Canadian citizen or permanent resident). - Ability to obtain and maintain Reliability (or Secret) security clearance.
